1. (C) USS DAVIS, USS MASSEY AND USS PAPAGO ARE PROCEEDING AT
BEST SPEED, WITH TWO DOCTORS EMBARKED TO ASSIST AND ESCORT USS
LIBERTY. RDVU WITH THE DESTROYERS IS EXPECTED AT APPROX 090400Z.
PAPAGO WILL JOIN APPROXIMATELY 12 HOURS LATER. LIBERTY WILL BE
SAILED TO SOUDA BAY FOR TEMPORARY REPAIRS BY USS TIDEWATER.
2. (S) USS SYLVANIA HAS BEEN ORDERED TO PROCEED TO LAT 32-4?N
LONG 29E 100 MILES FROM ALEXANDRIA, AND TO REMAIN IN THAT
POSITION SHOULD HER ASSISTANCE BE REQUIRED IN THE EVACUATION OF
U.S. NATION-ALS. COMSIXTHFLT WILL PROVIDE ESCORTS AND AIR COVER
SHOULD SYLVANIA BE DIRECTED TO ASSIST IN THE EVACUATION.
3. (S) THE AMPHIBIOUS FORCE (TF 61) WITH THE LANDING FORCE (TF
62) EMBARKED, SAILED FROM MALTA ON 8 JUNE AND IS PRESENTLY
PROCEEDING EAST TO OPERATE WITHIN 25 MILES OF 35-00N AND 19E
UNTIL OTHERWISE DIRECTED.
4. (C) NAVAL EXERCISE CHANGE.
   A. DESERT FROST II/PHIBLEX 12-67 ORIGINALLY SCHEDULED FROM
9-19 JUNE HAS BEEN POSTPONED INDEFINITELY.
